International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB)
Country (ies): Global
Scope: Global
Year: 2024
01
CONTEXT
The International Indigenous Forum on Biodiversity (IIFB) is a key platform for articulating the participation of Indigenous Peoples in global biodiversity governance. At a decisive moment for the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), the capacity to advocate also depended on having a digital infrastructure that converts diverse territorial voices into a common, coherent, and accessible message for international audiences.

02
CHALLENGE
Transforming the IIFB website into a real tool for visibility and advocacy by organizing and amplifying a single voice in multilateral processes, facilitating access to strategic information, strengthening legitimacy, and enabling connections between communities, allies, and decision-makers.
03
SOLUTION
A website was designed and developed as a public communication platform for global advocacy, prioritizing three capabilities:
- Accessibility and clarity: Improving navigation and information architecture to facilitate access across different countries, user profiles, and connectivity levels.
- Informational authority: Structuring contents to highlight the IIFB agenda, its positions, and the context of the challenges faced by Indigenous Peoples.
- Dynamism and participation: Implementing a modern, interactive design geared toward constant updates, information circulation, and community building.

04
IMPACT
Intervention results: The site ceased to be a static repository and was consolidated as an advocacy tool for the IIFB, strengthening its capacity to:
- Advocate in global biodiversity policies with clearer and more consistent messages.
- Defend territorial rights by improving public visibility and accessibility to strategic information.
- Connect and mobilize communities and international partners, enabling a single voice from the territories to the global agenda.
