This global communication and political advocacy campaign brought together over 100 indigenous and community leaders from around the world in California with the purpose of influencing the authorities of the Climate Governors Group. The campaign consisted of four gatherings of indigenous and community leaders, civil society organizations, activists, artists, political figures, journalists, and influencers.

The first gathering consisted of an exchange and capacity-building space for leadership and communication; it included the participation of indigenous leaders from Mesoamerica, the Amazon Basin, Brazil, the Indonesian Archipelago, and the United States. It took place in Klamath, California, within the territory of the Yurok people.

The second meeting was the Global Climate Action Summit organized by the Climate Governors Group in the city of San Francisco, California. It showcased the work of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in the fight against climate change.

The third gathering was “Our Village”, an event organized by If Not Us Then Who in the city of San Francisco,  which brought together territorial organizations, activist movements, NGOs, decision-makers, influencers, and journalists. It focused on producing scientific, cultural, and political events that promote the messages and actions of Indigenous Peoples at the Global Climate Action Summit.

The fourth meeting was the symbolic action and participation of indigenous leaders in the Climate March held in the city of San Francisco during the Global Climate Action Summit. Its aim was showing the work of Indigenous Peoples in conserving forests and mitigating the effects of climate change for their communities and the world.
